It started when I noticed Kayla Itsine’s BBG program on Instagram. I couldn’t get over the results I was seeing from some of the people I followed that had joined her program! I’m at a point where I don’t want to diet to lose weight and get “skinny” but I want to become strong and lean. I have never been overweight but I’m sick and tired of feeling bloated all the time like I drank tons of soda when I don’t even drink soda or having no energy at all.
Energy is definitely needed when you are a mum of two very active boys 🙂
It’s not like I was binging on Oreos and Ramen Noodles but pasta and bread were definitely a comfort food and eating my cravings turned into a daily thing. Skipping breakfast here and there or sometimes lunch and not keeping hydrated (yeah, bad…I didn’t realize what I was doing to my body). After reading why we crave the things we do, I figured why not try drinking more water (keeping 8 glasses of 8 ounces at the minimum and pushing myself to exceed that) and suck up drinking those awful protein shakes I have tried and see what happens.
Point is, I have found a protein powder I like (no gritty texture that I can’t swallow) and that seems to hold me over until my morning snack. I do have more energy! I have put my BBG app to use (currently on beginner week 2) exercising every day and adding in my yoga at the end of the day to help me unwind. I know I’m not too far into it but I think for me I wanted to see some sort of result to prove “yeah, this will work and I have faith I will get where I want to be…feeling better physically and mentally.”
This goal that I have seems to finally be a motivation! It’s amazing to think by working out daily and eating right I have so much more energy and not feeling bloated at all not to mention I am more positive…happy! Crazy to think I am actually looking forward to my next work out!
