TIU 31 Day Workout Challenge


Good morning!

I know it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted and it’s been driving me crazy! I’ve even written it out in my super awesome day designer, when to post and what about, yet it slips away. I feel like there’s not enough time in a day…between work, class, papers, studying, the boys and their activities, finding time to breathe…. I’m sure there’s a lot of you with me on this! Yeah…It’s that thing called life 🙂 but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

With my vacation creeping up in exactly a month, I thought what better way to start prepping “bikini bod”, with the Tone It Up 31 day challenge. I’m not going to lie, it’s pretty intense…but completely worth it.

It’s not just about exercising (I’ll get to that in a minute) but it’s also about eating the right meals, at the right time, and cutting out sugar (which for me has been pretty hard, with my strong love for chocolate).Yesterday while meal prepping I decided to make some of the TIU approved pumpkin muffins (so good and great for Meal 1 or 2 snack).


This is a breakdown of what my meals look like today >

M1: Scrambled egg with spinach and garlic, 2 bite size pumpkin muffins and cold brew coffee black

M2: ½ cup of Grapenuts with a handful of blueberries with 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk

M3: Sweet potato with 4oz of chicken

M4: 3 lean turkey roll ups with spicy mustard

M5: Baked veggies with garlic (by this meal I’m never too hungry)

During the course of the day not only is making sure you get in your five meals important, to speed up your metabolism, but water intake is very important also. Drinking half of your body weight in ounces is a must for so many reasons! I also choose to change it up a bit by adding fruit or spices to it. I’ve found by having a Polar sparkling flavored water, it cures my chocolate craving I’m having and also fills me up.

The Exercise Part

First thing in the morning *TIU Booty Call* 5 daily moves with 31 reps of each and 40 minute cardio. Setting my alarm clock 40 mins earlier than usual and going to bed 40 minutes earlier is a must. If you want it bad enough, you’ll make it work.

Hey I didn’t say it was easy BUT I feel amazing and that definitely makes up for it. If I can’t get in everything before the boys wake up, I make sure I at least get in 20 mins of cardio as soon as I wake. The 5 daily moves can be done before bed if that’s what works for you. I have to say last night after completing my “kettle booty workout” I don’t think I’ve ever slept so good 🙂

DIY Green Wreath


If you haven’t noticed, I’m pretty obsessed with DIY. If it includes crafting of any sort, making my house feel more homey and saving money by doing it, I’M IN! JoAnn’s Fabric is my go to store when it comes to savings…Stepping into that store I feel as if I’m a kid that just arrived at the largest toy store in America…taking a “quick trip” is definitely not going to happen…ever. Let me start off by saying if you haven’t signed up to receive the JoAnn’s Fabric emails and text messages I suggest you do so if you are into anything DIY or the cutest home décor for any season/holiday! You can save SO much!

My most recent find was a medium sized grapevine wreath, 3 stems of greenery, old vintage clock and a metal vase. Luckily when I got up to the register I had just received a text message the day before for 60% off one regular priced item and an email of 20% off the total purchase! SCORE!

Going in to JoAnn’s Fabric I had in mind my floating shelf in my dining room that my boyfriend just built me. I had a sign that I made out of wood and white paint (that says “eat”) that I wanted to put on that shelf with the clock, the vase and the wreath. I will show the complete look at the end.


Here is what you’ll need for the wreath:

  • 1 Medium size grapevine wreath
  • 3-6 stems of greenery depending how much greenery is on them (I would hold it up to the grapevine wreath in the store to judge how much to get)
  • Hot glue gun with several glue sticks

1 What you’ll do:

  • Clip all stems down to just the greenery
  • Put a glob of glue on the end of the greenery and stick into the grapevine hold there for a few seconds
  • Keep overlapping the greenery until all of the grapevine is covered.

Pretty easy and very cheap to make! Buying a wreath like this at any store would be at least $25 and you can make it for $15 or less depending on your coupons.

7 Minute Breakfast On-The-Go

My mornings can be so hectic between getting in my morning “BootyCall” aka Tone It Up’s High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) which is a great way to start the day and give your metabolism a boost, getting the kids ready for summer camp and fed, and getting myself ready and out the door by 7am. I’m sure a lot of you can sympathize with hectic mornings and trying to remember a healthy breakfast, that’s why I love this quick 7 minute recipe. It’s definitely a favorite and you can even take it on-the-go!


What you’ll need:

1 Egg

¼ Avocado

1 T salsa

1 t garlic powder

1 t parsley (fresh if you have it)

2 slices of Arnold Multi-Grain Sandwich Thins

A sprinkle of bacon bits (optional)


What you’ll do:  ((This is so simple!!!))

  • Crack the egg in a small bowl and add in the garlic powder and parsley and scramble with a fork.
  • Place bowl in microwave for 1 minute
  • While your egg is cooking in the microwave, toast your two slices of sandwich thins.
  • When your egg is done your sandwich thins should be done shortly after.
  • Place egg on one piece of toast and ¼ of the avocado on the other and mash the avocado.
  • Add a sprinkle of bacon bits and salsa on top of the avocado
  • Put the two sandwich thins together and enjoy!

Hey followers! I hope you all are having a great Thursday! Today’s mantra is great for everyone. We can all benefit from several deep breaths and slow exhales to awaken our energy and start a new day with good vibes.

Today is the day I go to orientation and finalize my classes for this semester. It’s kind of an overwhelming feeling but amazing at the same time, to know I am going to be one step closer to the career I have wanted for so long. Here’s to taking lots of deep breaths, exhaling through any negativity or fear you have and gaining positive energy to create a new set of patterns that will make the happiest you!

Tuesday Pick-Me-Up

Is it only Tuesday?!😳

In serious need of my PerfectFit Awaken tea. You know one of those days you can’t get out of your own way? That’s me today. Could be the result of a Bachelorette hangover, from staying up so late to see the final rose ceremony and of course the after show, mixed with tying up all the loose ends before my classes start at the end of the month. Needless to say it is only Tuesday afternoon and I’m wishing it was Friday already 🙂


The PerfectFit Awaken tea is the perfect pick-me-up! Green tea with a blend of tropical breeze…reminding me that in exactly 3 months I will be laying on the beach in the Caribbean feeling that tropical breeze firsthand.

Is there anyone else suffering a Bachelorette hangover today?! Any thoughts on the outcome??🌹

What’s in the Bag of the “Plus 1” – Wedding Weekend

Hey!! I hope you all had a great 4th of July!

So it’s been some time since my last post – You know summer…it gets crazy with beach trips, weddings, bridal/baby showers and the list goes on 🙂

This past weekend we celebrated the love of a beautiful couple at one of the most gorgeous venues, The Lyman Estate Mansion also known as The Vale, a historic country house located in Waltham, MA on 37 acres of pure beauty.


Call me a “swooner” but there’s just something about an old Victorian mansion! The wedding was absolutely perfect filled with amazing people, music, food, the best tasting wines and of course, so much love.

Thursday night we had the rehearsal dinner, which was casual but somewhat dressy. I always over pack whenever I go somewhere, mainly because I change my mind way too often when it comes to clothes 🙂 There’s nothing wrong with having tons of options….right??? Who wants to be thousands of miles away and wishing you would have packed something?! 🙂 This was the perfect opportunity to wear my new stitch fix blouse with some gray skinnies dressed up with some heels.  IMG_7341

Friday night…wedding time! My boyfriend was in the wedding party and planned to be gone most of the day so I decided to hang around the hotel, hit up the gym and do some yoga before the wedding. Packing some yoga pants, comfy shorts, sports bra and some sneakers was a must!



Having trouble deciding what to wear to the wedding?? You can’t go wrong with the little black dress, heels and a bright necklace! Don’t forget pair of flip flops or flats to dance the night away with. Let loose and have some wine! Cheers

Taking on Week 3 >>BB4


Time to take on week 3 of Tone It Up Beach Babe 4!

Starting the day with the TIU Rock Your Body workout and the TIU Booty Call (20 minute or longer run, HIIT workout, or class).  I chose one of my HIIT workouts, this morning.

During TIU you learn the importance of 5 meals a day.

M1 – Meta D or Bombshell spell  with egg and some fruit or a Perfect Fit Pancake and some TIU approved coffee or Perfect Fit Awaken Tea. (Black coffee for me is a must!…lately I have been all about the cold brew)

M2 – Mid morning snack. I enjoy making smoothies or if I’m running a bit late in the morning I just grab a piece of fruit.

M3 – Healthy lunch of lean protein and complex carbs with fruit and veggies on the side.

M4 – For my afternoon snack lately I have been obsessed with hummus. I love all the flavors with pretty much any veggie.

M5 – A lean protein with unlimited green veggies and a touch of healthy fats while limiting starches.

Post M5 I enjoy a cup of tea or Perfect Fit Unwind Tea with an occasional splash of warm almond/cashew milk.

As always, before bed, unwinding with yoga is perfect for a great night’s rest. Stay tuned for my 10 favorite yoga poses to do before bed!

So far going on week three of my TIU journey I am highly satisfied! I love the way I feel and I have already seen a difference!

A Thursday Positive : Heartbeat

Happy Thursday!!

I figured I’d start this gorgeous day off with a positive vibe!

This couldn’t be any more on point… It’s totally me! I have been told so many times “you’re too nice” (to the people who don’t give it in return) and maybe that’s true. I used to hate hearing it over and over and then get walked all over. Through the years I have come to realize there is a happy medium. It is OK to love and forgive but also, it’s not OK to let others hurt you. You are not a human punching bag…and you will not keep letting other’s burn you. You just have to learn from it, remember how it makes you feel and move forward with the biggest heart and a shield on the side 🙂 Why should I change who I am because of another person’s negativity?? DON’T! Stay strong and be you! That’s what’s beautiful. AND DO SOME YOGA!

DIY Farmhouse Kitchen Sign

Let me start by saying Joanna Gaines is definitely an idol of mine! I can’t get enough of her and her husband’s show, Fixer Upper. In the meantime, while I (not so patiently) wait for their fourth season to air, I have decided to take up some of my own DIY projects.

We just painted our cupboard from plywood orangey-brown to white with turquois doors. What a difference it has made in brightening up our kitchen! I figured this was a perfect opportunity to find out what color we want for cabinets, so when the time comes to gut the kitchen out and say hello to our dream kitchen, we will be ready!

This weekend I decided to make a farmhouse sign to put above my sink in the kitchen.

What you’ll need:

  • A piece of plywood (what ever size you’d like)
  • Black acrylic paint
  • A small to medium size paint brush
  • Sand paper
  • Pencil
  • Paper towel or cloth
  • Paper plate 

What you do:

  • Find the font you like (I used Word) and print it out what you want your sign to say  (adjust the size according to the size of your plywood)
  • Cut out each letter to use as a stencil and trace with a pencil
  • Fill in the letters with the black acrylic paint and let it dry
  • Once it’s completely dry use the sand paper to lightly go over the letters
  • Use the cloth or paper towel and wipe it down

Voila!! There you have your beautiful country farmhouse sign.

**note: I did try to use a permanent marker and an oil based one to outline and…as expected, it did bleed. I used the acrylic paint for the rest of the outlining**



Update to my Fitness Journey

Good morning! It’s FRIIDAYYY!!!

I wanted to fill you in on my recent change in my fitness journey! I completed a month of BBG, which was great, but I have been interested in trying something new…something I can continue to use for however long I want…something more long term without the $20 monthly fee. It’s called TONE IT UP! with Karena and Katrina…If you haven’t heard of it, you should check it out! You pay a flat fee and you can have it for life, with all of the updates even! As I’m waiting for my bundle to arrive I’ve decided to buy all my workout equipment separately, just because it’s a lot cheaper. Things you will want to get:

  • 10lb kettlebell
  • Free weights
  • Yoga Mat
  • Exercise ball
  • Resistance bands (light and heavy) I bought mine in a pack together
  • Foam roller
  • Walking hand weights (the kind with the strap to put around your hand)
